Calling All High Schooling Seniors

The Northern Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Society for Human Life (VSHL) is sponsoring the Helen M. Donovan Memorial Award Essay Contest. This contest is open to Virginia high school seniors.

Cash Prizes

1st place award: $1,000
2nd place award: $500

ESSAY TITLE: Promoting the Culture of Life

As social media users and content creators, you can positively influence both your local community and the global culture through civil discourse, particularly on issues that threaten human life, such as abortion. Discuss how you would use social media and other means to promote a culture that values human life at every stage and preserves human dignity.

Using the above title, your essay must be at least 400 words, double-spaced with one-inch margins.  Please send your essay by December 20th and include your home address, home phone number and school name.  This contest is open to Virginia high school seniors.

A VSHL committee will judge each essay submitted to the Helen Donovan Memorial Essay Contest. Winners will be notified in January of 2023.
