Department of Education Demands Immediate Answers Regarding High School Abortion Scandal
As the shocking allegations coming out of Centerville High School Continue to unfold, and the state police continue their investigation, the federal government has opened another angle of investigation on the case. The U. S. Department of Education, under the Student Privacy Policy Office, is asking for answers to serious questions regarding school practices and specifics about the cases being investigated.
These are important questions that Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) must answer to provide the parents of Fairfax County and the rest of Virginia assurance that our schools are indeed following state and federal laws intended to respect parents’ rights to protect and guide their minor daughters when facing a teen pregnancy.
This new investigation launched by the Dept. of Education has a short window for compliance from FCPS. The agency said it has initiated enforcement action against Fairfax County Public Schools and is seeking additional information by mid-October. If the school system doesn’t provide it, they could risk losing federal funding, the agency said.
“As much as FCPS may want to push this matter aside and delay or obstruct the facts coming out, it is clear that they won’t be able to as this case goes forward. If there was no wrongdoing by any FCPS staff let that come out. However, if there was, the taxpayers and parents of Fairfax County have a right to know immediately.” said Olivia Gans Turner, president of Virginia Society for Human Life.
“As Virginians go to the polls for early voting it is important to remember that any candidate who doesn’t support Virginia’s Parental Consent law is not going to vote to protect our children.” said Turner.
Virginia Society for Human Life is the oldest state-wide pro-life organization in the nation with chapters throughout the Commonwealth supporting life issues and the Virginia affiliate of the National Right to Life Committee.
