The 2022 Alex and Geline Williams Oratory Contest

The annual Alex and Geline B. Williams Oratory Contest, sponsored by the Virginia Society for Human Life Educational Fund, encourages high school juniors and seniors to prepare and present a short speech on one of these topics: abortion, infanticide or euthanasia.

The contest is open to high school juniors and seniors in the 11th and 12th grades as of February 1, 2022. Contestants must be Virginia residents, or full-time students of Virginia schools. For more information, download the contest rules from the links at the bottom of this page.

Students will compete in person on May 14, 2022 in Richmond, Virginia at the Tuckahoe Branch of the Henrico County Public Library at 1901 Starling Dr, Henrico, VA 23229

The first-place winner will compete in National Right to Life’s Jane B. Thompson Oratory Contest. Currently, the winner is expected to compete in person at the National Right to Life Convention in Atlanta, Georgia June 24-25, 2022. 

First, second, and third place winners will receive:

1st Place: $500

2nd Place: $250

3rd Place: $100

To enter the contest:

Download and complete both the entry form and photo release form, include a typed copy of your speech and return the all of the materials to the contest coordinator listed at the bottom of the entry form.
