The goal of this event is to present a solid sense of how committed many in Virginia are to passing protective legislation that will save the lives of the unborn, the disabled, the chronically ill and the dependent elderly.
After loud and disruptive efforts last year in Richmond by pro-abortion groups to derail pro-life laws, it has become apparent that pro-lifers in Virginia must stand up and be counted. Our legislators want to see our support at the Capital. This is a valuable opportunity to thank our pro-life elected officials and to put a pro-life face on the debate in Virginia.
There is still much to be done regarding the passage of strong and protective legislation. Our ability to do depends on sending a clear message to the members of the General Assembly that Life issues matter to pro-life Virginians. Two years ago the people of Virginia elected a solid pro-life majority to the General Assembly in addition to earlier election of pro-lifers to all three offices of the Executive Branch of our state government. Virginia legislators, working closely with VSHL and other pro-life groups, have done much to provide protection to the unborn and other vulnerable human life. Now is no time to rest on our laurels! We can do more and continue to lead.
